Who are We?

We are a group of 6th graders from Oakridge Intl School, Bangalore. The COVID situation is getting out of  control and we want to help raise awareness about COVID-19 so that people take precautionary measures and everyone is safe. In this website you will get to know about the Virus, precautions that need to be taken etc. We are currently fundraising for an NGO called Karunashraya, to support supplies for cancer patients, as they are running low on funds during this pandemic time. All the funds collected will be donated for the patients food, medicines and consumables for a day.

How the Virus started?

The virus COVID-19 started from an animal and then passed on to humans at the Huanan Market in Wuhan, China. On the 31st December 2019, WHO(World Health Organization) was notified about numerous cases of pneumonia in Wuhan, China which had a population of 11 million citizens. By 5th January 59 cases were reported and none of which were deaths. 10 days later, there were over 280 cases. At this point, there had been 6 deaths in Wuhan, 51 people were seriously ill and 12 were on the verge of death(critical condition). Many of the people had severe acute respiratory syndrome and the cause of this became known as COVID 19(Coronavirus) or you could say SARS-CoV-2. Symptoms of COVID-19 and Day to Day Severity

 Some of the most frequent symptoms of COVID-19 is: Fever  Dry Cough  Fatigue Other symptoms which are less ordinary and could affect a few patients are: Loss of taste and smell Nasal Congestion Conjunctivitis Sore throat  Headache  Nausea Diarrhoea  Chills and Dizziness Symptoms of Severe COVID-19 cases: Loss of appetite Pain or pressure in the chest  High Temperatures(Fever above 38 degrees Celsius)   Shortness of breath  Symptoms from Day-Day when you have COVID-19: Day 1:  88% of the people have Fever and Fatigue. Often people also have muscle pain and a dry cough. Around 10% of the people experience symptoms like diarrhea and nausea before the fever starts to take place. Day 2- Day 4 : During these couple of days, the fever and cough continues. Day 5:  Difficulty in breathing starts to occur and it is most likely to take place for patients with pre- existing medical conditions.  Day 6:  Difficulty in breathing, cough and also fever continues.
